Event description
Waypoint Presents: Career Launch - En route to the Games Industry
✨ About this event
Many students across campuses in Sydney are eager to jump straight into work and are curiously looking into whatever pathways exist. Waypoint and UTS are joining forces to host an event on the UTS campus aimed at students looking to understand how people earned the positions they hold and how businesses and hiring managers recruit and look for talent.
Unlike our usual networking events which we keep to private and industry only, we will be hosting a public industry panel that's open to everyone from students to long-time professionals seeking a focused discussion on pathways into the industry. As industry leaders, we've worked to bring in knowledgeable people in both game-making craft and business to provide diverse perspectives on making a career in the games industry.
Hosted by producer Ryan Penning and artists Eric Tahiri and Liezl Ronquillo, Waypoint is an opportunity for people working within the Sydney Games industry to build connections and discover new games and content being locally developed. This event is part of the UTS Tech Festival 2024 and is open to students from any college, university or campus who want to attend.
Date: Wednesday, 19th June 2024
Time: 5:30pm - 7:00pm
