Event description

As part of Tech Fest 2025, Waypoint and UTS are once again teaming up to host an exciting dynamic live event on campus - created for local game developers and emerging student talent!

Waypoint Presents: Pitch "Real Talk, No Stakes" invites you to join an audience and watch talented local developers pitch their games to a panel of industry professionals. But there's a twist: The panel of judges will take on the roles of fictional publishers, challenging teams to pitch and negotiate mock deals inspired by real-world publishing contracts - complete with the quirks and unexpected turns developers often face in the industry.

To keep things exciting, selected game pitches and panel judges will remain a surprise until the night of the event- the only way to find out what's in store is to be there!

Curated by Eric Tahiri and Liezl Ronquillo and MC’d separately by Ryan Penning, Waypoint is an opportunity for people working within the Sydney Games industry to build connections and discover new games and content being locally developed.

The event is open to all game developers as well as students from any university or campus - come and be part of the fun and future of game development.

Date: Wednesday, 2nd July 2025

Time: 5:30pm - 7:00pm

Location: UTS Building 11, Level 0, Room 401

For discussion or networking after the event, there will be a small group heading over to Fortress after the session for mingling.
