World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) Round Table Discussion 2025
Event description
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2025: Roundtable with Faith Leaders
By invitation only.
The Inner West Region Prevention of Abuse of Older People Collaborative invites senior faith leaders to a roundtable discussion on addressing the abuse and disrespect of older people—particularly within culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
1 in 6 older Australians have experienced abuse, yet most cases go unreported—often occurring behind closed doors, within families, and in silence. This forum aims to engage trusted community voices to raise awareness, explore prevention strategies, and promote support pathways.
