Australia is entering a significant transfer of wealth. Women are expected to hold growing influence over how that money moves.
This is often framed as an opportunity.
But opportunity without intention changes very little. New wealth flowing through existing systems tends to reinforce existing patterns. And Women of Colour, First Nations women and other marginalised communities continue to lead and create impact, often without sustained or equitable funding.
This breakfast asks a different question.
Not just how do we give more. But how do we give differently.

What to expect
This is not a panel. Not a presentation. It is an intimate and participatory gathering designed to create genuine space for reflection, connection and shared insight.
The session will be guided by Our Race Community’s Transformational Ethical Story Telling (T.E.ST.) framework, Australia’s first of its kind, which will shape how we listen, speak and engage with each other throughout the morning.
We will move through paired and small-group dialogue before coming together for collective discussion. You will be invited to be present, not as a funder, advisor or sector leader, but as someone who genuinely wants to get this right.

We are intentional about the room we build — bringing funders and those seeking funding into honest conversation together.
General tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early to secure your place.

A note on language: We capitalise Women of Colour as a deliberate statement of power and shared identity, rooted in the words of Loretta Ross. It is not a biological designation but a commitment to solidarity with women who have been marginalised on the basis of race, ethnicity, culture, religion, or national origin. When we refer to marginalised communities, we are not describing a deficit. We are naming a structural reality. We acknowledge that some First Nations women identify as Women of Colour and are welcomed within this framing. We also recognise that First Nations identity is distinct and sovereign, and this language note does not seek to conflate or subsume it.
