Join Murray Local Land Services for a practical workshop focusing on confinement feeding, weaning, and weaner and breeder management. Key principles for sheep will also be covered.

Event details:

With tough seasonal conditions, there is plenty to know about suitable weaner nutrition and breeder management is critical to maintaining growth rates, protecting condition, and supporting successful re-conception.

Presented by Geoff Minchin and Brett Littler (Drought Adoption Officers and farmers), this session will provide practical, on-the-ground insights to support your decision-making.

Topics will include:

fundamentals of weaner nutrition and feed requirements
feed ration formulation – what to consider
benefits and practicalities of livestock confinement feeding, including animal health considerations (with Mark Corrigan, LLS District Veterinarian)
management approaches for the season ahead.

Additional details: Bring along your feed test results. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, compare feeding options, and explore strategies for managing through dry times.
