Murawin & Weaving Our Stories are running free weaving circles in Armidale this school holiday period.

These weaving circles are a safe space for women and girls 11 years and older of all backgrounds to have a yarn while engaging in a culturally significant activity. Murawin & Weaving Our Stories acknowledge the deep cultural significance of weaving in Aboriginal Culture and position our weaving circles as a way for all people to connect with, and honour that heritage.

Four free workshops during school holidays

Open to women and girls 11 yeras and older of all backgrounds.
Registration is essential

Murawin is a national consultancy committed to social justice and empowerment of First Nations communities and other marginalised groups. Our organisation works across a wide range of policy areas that directly affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Implementing our Barri Marruma methodology, we specialise in three core service areas: Social Impact & Engagement, Research & Evaluation, and Place Strategy.

Founded by Dunghutti woman Carol Vale and the late Greg McKenzie, Murawin, at its core is rooted in intercultural collaboration, mutual respect, and reconciliation - with the mission to create impact by breaking cycles of disadvantage and amplifying initiatives that contribute to economic and social empowerment.
