Event description: Weaving Magical dreamcatchers - A Journey for both kids & teens in nature - Thurs 6th July 2022 9.30am -15.00-pm
Week 2- Spring School Holidays
Get your feet earthy & dirty & hands crafty these holidays. Learn how to make your own eco-dream catcher and see how everything is ... in the web of life and how every living thing in nature is connected.
A fun packed day with nature connection games, foraging for natural resources & sacred objects, story telling & games and more!
Where: 12 Tristran Parade - beautiful property in nature with gum trees shade chickens & enclosed fence
All materials provided; eco based, natural feathers and locally sourced where possible!
In this workshop the young people will learn:
- Foraging for local plants, seeds and sacred objects for the craft
- Learning the value of using eco friendly and sustainable local native resources (lomandra)
- Skills & techniques in wrapping and constructing a dreamcatcher
- The art of story telling (sharing legend of dreamcatchers from Native American Tribe)
- Nature connection/ movement/mindfulness games
- Practice skills like hand eye coordination
- Support with self regulation; teamwork, acceptance, frustration & patience during the activity
The Young People will take home:
- The skills needed to make a dream catcher
- Their very own unique natural dreamcatcher
- A holistic experience more than just their craft;
- A deeper awareness & connection with the natural world around them
- A deeper sense of value for the earth and all it gives us
- Growth in emotional body & some Self regulation techniques
- New friends & sense of pride
Please Note
- Drop off at 9.30am
- Pick up 3pm
- Suitable for children 7+
- Bring snacks, lunch , swimmers and water bottle
- Ticket numbers are limited and also need numbers to cover cost - be sure to get yours before the event sells out to avoid disappointment.

About me
I am Ocean . I worked for many bush schools and nature programs across the Northern Rivers. I am 33 years old, from Ireland & have a love a passionate for nature craft, the earth & wild tribes wisdom. I studied holistic counselling and psychotherapy & just finished the two year course. I am a mother, love nature, exploring, adventures and love empowering children. I am a yoga teacher, lover of art, music, poetry & creativity. I have first aid, insurance & live in Mullumbimby & run a bush kindie in the school terms.
