This hands-on workshop offers an immersive experience into creating your own piece of art using natural fibres and organic ceramic/pottery bases. Learn the age-old techniques of stitching or coiling, explore fibre suitability, preparation and storage. Dedicate some time to relax and rejuvenate with a mindfulness activity designed to enhance your creativity and well-being. In this full day workshop you will learn the age old basketry technique to stitch or coil with natural fibres. An abundance of natural fibres is supplied, prepped and ready to go on the day for you. We will discuss fibre suitability, preparation, storage and seasonal availability of natural fibres. An opportunity to explore your garden or surrounding areas of useful fibres to weave with. Manmade items can be up-cycled/recycled wonderfully in this art form also.
All materials such as natural fibres, unique pottery bases, tools and equipment needed are supplied. Enjoy a delightful morning tea and Tea & coffee during the day.
Please feel free to bring along:
- non toxic natural fibres, wool, fabric, beads & embellishments from home to make your piece truly unique.
- A smile is essential and a healthy 'delish' lunch plate to share for a communal lunch
