Weaving Stories Workshops at Mona Vale with Caroline Glass-Paterson and Karleen Green

The 2025 Weaving Stories workshops offer a unique opportunity to engage with Aboriginal knowledge holders and a traditional master weaver while exploring your own creativity.
During the workshops you will hear captivating stories shared by Aboriginal knowledge holders while learning traditional weaving techniques.
Whether you are a seasoned artist or novice, these workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, create, and celebrate First Nations culture and heritage.
WORKSHOP DETAILS
Leading the workshops is Senior Knowledge Holder, Caroline Glass-Pattison who is a proud Wiradjuri, Dungutti woman, residing in Gai-mariagal Country for over three decades.
Master Weaver Karleen Green is a Bunjalung, Munjalau and Kgari woman who is currently living on Gadigal Country. Karleen has been leading weaving workshops using natural fibres and traditional techniques for more than thirty years. Together they bring you the Weaving Stories workshops for 2025.Weaving Stories is part of the 2025 Gai-mariagal Festival.

Please make your way to Mona Vale Library building and take lift or stairs to Level 1, walk through Customer Service to the Gallery. Caroline, Karleen and the Northern Beaches Council team will be waiting to welcome you. Below are the dates for the upcoming workshops.
Though the workshops are free to attend, bookings are essential.
Weaves made during the workshop will be kept for an exhibition outcome in July 2025.

Please allow time for your parking. Mona Vale Village can be busy in the mornings.
