The 2024 Weaving Stories workshops offer a unique opportunity to engage with local Aboriginal knowledge holders and a traditional master weaver and explore your own creativity.
During the workshops you will hear captivating stories shared by Aboriginal knowledge holders while learning traditional weaving techniques.
Whether you are a seasoned artist or novice, these workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, create, and celebrate First Nations culture and heritage.
Weaving Stories is part of the 2024 Gaimariagal Festival.

WORKSHOP DETAILS
Leading the workshops is Senior Knowledge Holder, Caroline Glass-Pattison who is a proud Wiradjuri, Dungutti woman, residing in Gai-mariagal Country for over three decades.Â
Master Weaver Karleen Green is a Bunjalung, Munjalau and Kgari woman who is currently living on Gadigal Country. Karleen has been leading weaving workshops using natural fibres and traditional techniques for more than thirty years. Together they bring you the Weaving Stories 'Keep the Flame Alive' workshops for 2024.
Manly Creative Library
Please note that for the Saturday work shops, Manly Library opens at 10am. Caroline, Karleen and the Northern Beaches Council team will be waiting for you in the Creative Library. Please take the lift or the stairs to Level 1. Below are the dates for the upcoming workshops. Though the workshops are free to attend, bookings are essential.Â
