This session is about improvised infrastructure and shifting the norms of storage from users to platforms and back again.

If you have any old flash drives in the bottom of a drawer somewhere, now's the time to dig them out! We'll be making a digital treasure chest of photos, videos, websites and posts to start the process of downloading data and moving off the Cloud.

Each session explores a different aspect of the open web:

Avatar and identity (decentralised socials, data portability, deleting your deadname)
Machinima of the mind (open-source DnD software for solidarity, communication and collaboration)
Community connectivity (alternative networks, mesh, privacy and security)
Improvised infrastructure (wok-fi, cantenna, portable storage)
Creative autonomy and not-for-profit platforms (Ao3)
Open sourcerers (getting started with open-source software + is Linux difficult to use?)

James Bot is an artist and science educator from the science art collective Snart Club. He's researching community connectivity and whether the free Internet is more expensive for TGD communities.
