A Powerful Afternoon of Collective Song, Celebration & Connection

Crowd Choir invites you to a vibrant afternoon of collective music-making — a shared space for reflection, solidarity, and joyful celebration. Bring your family, friends, and neighbours: all genders and ages are warmly welcome.

This International Women’s Day, we gather to honour the vital role women play in our lives and in our multicultural society. We celebrate the extraordinary female musicians and artists in our Local Latin community — women who gift us songs, rhythms, stories, and deep cultural connections.

Together, we will weave a tapestry of voices and stories, acknowledging the challenges women continue to face locally and globally, while celebrating their resilience, wisdom, creativity, leadership, and the often unseen labour of sustaining communities.

What is Crowd Choir?

Crowd Choir is an open invitation to experience the joy of singing together — a choir of the moment.
No musical training required. No need to read music. You don’t even need to think you’re a “good singer.”

We believe everyone has a voice worth sharing. When we sing together, something powerful happens. This is not about perfection, but about breathing together, harmonising, and experiencing the transformative power of collective voice.

Let’s sing in honour of the women in our hearts — those beside us, those who came before us, and those whose voices echo around the world.

A Unique Four-Project Collaboration

Following the Crowd Choir experience, enjoy a special collaboration with:

• El Rincón Band – Passionate songs from Spain and Latin America, rich in emotion and storytelling.

• Latin Choir Brisbane – A vibrant community choir founded by five women during COVID, now a caring chosen family for many.

• Forró de Flor Band – Joyful rhythms and couple dance traditions from Northeast Brazil.

CATERING:

Our Weaving Voices event will be catered by The Loving Kitchen, serving fresh, beautifully prepared tapas inspired by Spanish and Mediterranean flavours. There will be a selection of fish and vegetarian tapas. You can check her website: www.thelovingkitchen.com.au

Supporting Women in Need

We will collect old phones, tablets, and laptops to refurbish and donate to shelters supporting women experiencing domestic violence. Your unused device could be a lifeline.

Event proceeds will support local women artists and Latin Choir Brisbane, a community of care and resilience for many women over the past five years.

Una Poderosa Tarde de Canto Colectivo, Celebración y Conexión

Crowd Choir te invita a una tarde vibrante de música colectiva — un espacio compartido para la reflexión, la solidaridad y la celebración con alegría. Trae a tu familia, amistades y vecinos: todas las edades y géneros son bienvenidos.

En este Día Internacional de la Mujer, nos reunimos para honrar el papel fundamental que las mujeres desempeñan en nuestras vidas y en nuestra sociedad multicultural. Celebramos a las extraordinarias músicas y artistas de nuestra comunidad latina — mujeres que nos regalan canciones, ritmos, historias y profundas conexiones culturales.

Tejeremos juntas y juntos un tapiz de voces e historias, reconociendo los desafíos que las mujeres siguen enfrentando a nivel local y global, mientras celebramos su resiliencia, sabiduría, creatividad, liderazgo y el trabajo muchas veces invisible de sostener comunidades.

¿Qué es Crowd Choir?

Crowd Choir es una invitación abierta a experimentar la alegría de cantar en conjunto — un coro del momento.
No se necesita formación musical. No hace falta saber leer música. Ni siquiera tienes que pensar que eres “buena cantante”.

Creemos que todas las personas tienen una voz que merece ser compartida. Cuando cantamos juntos, algo poderoso sucede. No se trata de perfección, sino de respirar al mismo ritmo, armonizar y experimentar el poder transformador de la voz colectiva.

Cantemos en honor a las mujeres que habitan en nuestros corazones — las que están a nuestro lado, las que nos precedieron y aquellas cuyas voces resuenan en el mundo.

Una Colaboración Única de Cuatro Proyectos

Después de la experiencia de Crowd Choir, disfrutaremos de una colaboración especial con:

• El Rincón Band – Canciones apasionadas de España y América Latina, llenas de emoción y narrativa.

• Latin Choir Brisbane – Un coro comunitario vibrante fundado por cinco mujeres durante el COVID, hoy una familia elegida para muchas personas.

• Forró de Flor Band – Ritmos contagiosos y la alegre tradición del baile en pareja del noreste de Brasil.

CATERING:

El evento Weaving Voices tendrá la presencia de The Loving Kitchen, sirviendo tapas y pintxos inspirados en sabores y colores españoles del Mediterraneo. Habrá seleccion de tapas de pescado y vegetarianas para escoger. Puedes inspirarte en lo que ofrecen: www.thelovingkitchen.com.au

Recogeremos teléfonos, tablets y ordenadores portátiles usados para reacondicionarlos y donarlos a refugios que apoyan a mujeres que viven situaciones de violencia doméstica. Tu dispositivo en desuso puede ser un verdadero salvavidas.

Los fondos recaudados apoyarán a artistas locales y a Latin Choir Brisbane, una comunidad de cuidado y resiliencia para muchas mujeres durante los últimos cinco años.
