Weaving with Hannah ‘Goanna’ Jones — Homeschool Workshop
Description
🌿 Weaving with Hannah ‘Goanna’ Jones — Homeschool Workshop
Join us for a special hands-on weaving workshop with Hannah ‘Goanna’ Jones of Yuluwirri Weaving, an Anāiwan/Gamilaraay woman and experienced weaver.
This relaxed, creative workshop offers children the opportunity to learn about Indigenous weaving through doing, making and connecting. Hannah will share her knowledge and introduce participants to weaving techniques in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
🧶 What to expect
Participants will be guided through practical weaving activities, learning foundational techniques and creating their own woven piece to take home.
For younger participants, the focus will be on exploring the materials and developing basic weaving skills. Older children, teens and adults can extend their skills and work towards creating a woven bracelet.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, have a go, experiment and enjoy the process of making together.
