Description

Turn weeds into wonders! Come and learn to weave baskets or wreaths from invasive vines while helping protect local bushland in this hands-on outdoor workshop.

Event description:

Help protect our native bushland from invasive vines like Ivy and Honeysuckle by learning how to harvest these weeds and transform them into a basket or wreath to take home.

This hands-on workshop will teach you how to gather and prepare materials, and give you the skills to continue your weaving practice at home.

All participants will leave with a completed basket or wreath base. Light refreshments will be provided.

A creative and eco-friendly activity perfect for the school holidays that also supports local biodiversity.

This event is organised and funded by Lithgow Council as part of Central Tablelands Biodiversity Month.

Additional details:

  • This event will be held outdoors, please wear appropriate clothing and sun protection.

  • There is limited seating, so bring a camp chair or stool if you do not want to sit on the grass.

  • Kids are welcome with adult supervision.
