Event description

To hire creative talent is to entrust them to bring your vision to life. Yet traditional selection processes can come with in-built barriers to participation. This means we often miss out on the best people coming through the door, or delivering their best work.

Approximately 20% of Australians have a visible or non-visible disability*.  Yet this cohort is typically underrepresented (and underpaid) in creative fields**. Join us for a conversation on how to make your castings more accessible, and why it is fundamentally good business sense. For example - A building with ramp access accommodates wheelchair users, but also people with luggage, prams, shopping carts or heavy loads.  In the same way, increasing accessibility in the creative arts can dramatically benefit more people than you think.

Join us for a one-hour discussion re-thinking the way we attract, include and work with talent. Our two presenters have a wealth of expertise in theatre and advertising media; Creative workers from all disciplines are welcome to attend and adapt their learnings to their own artform.
