We walk through what a design system really is, in plain language, and why it now has a second audience you never used to design for.

Your website has two readers, and only one of them has eyes. A person reads the design. A machine reads the structure underneath, and it is deciding what your business is and whether to recommend you. When your site says one thing, your listing says another and your profile says a third, a person shrugs and moves on. A machine does not. It quietly puts forward the business it is more sure about. Consistency stopped being about looking tidy. It became the thing that decides whether you are in the answer.
