Event description
Zoom Link and Registration is here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87964030261
Achieving Vision Zero - that is no deaths and series injuries on our roads - is a key goal for many cities and governments. This webinar explores how the media ecosystem is changing, with a decline in consumption of traditional broadcast media, and how digital campaigns can play a key role in public education and engagement on road safety issues.
The digital media ecosystem is changing, and there’s been a rise in a range of educational topics, including urban design to transport topics. Excitingly, if done well there’s also a huge audience for this type of content.
The workshop will use the recent 100 to Zero Road Safety Campaign, an independent project funded by the National Road Safety Action Grants Program, as a case study in using digital storytelling for community education, with practical case studies and insights.
The webinar will cover the fundamentals of creating great videos, the challenges of platforms and algorithms; creating digital content using just your phone; and how it can lead to real world impact.
This webinar will be recorded and made freely available on the 100 to Zero Project website (100tozero.org). This webinar is co-hosted with the Planning Institute of Australia. It is open to all, but is particularly targeted at Urban Planners and those interested and involved in road safety, including policy, education, advocacy and design.
This webinar is hosted by 100 to Zero campaign creators Dr Julian O’Shea, and Lucinda Hartley.
This webinar is hosted by Dr Julian O’Shea, an academic, transport expert and social media creator, who will share case studies and key findings about how to effectively design and deliver social educational social media campaigns. Julian is an academic, transport expert and social media creator Dr Julian O’Shea, who has been named the YouTube Breakout Creator of the Year and selected for the Skip Ahead program funded by Screen Australia.
Lucinda is an award-winning urban designer, technology founder, and entrepreneur named as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women by the Australian Financial Review. Her work over the past decade has focused on bringing innovation to city challenges.
This webinar will focus on the Australian context, with examples of global best practice. It will be recorded and made freely available on the 100 to Zero Project website (100tozero.org). This webinar is open to all, but is particularly targeted at those interested and involved in road safety, including policy, education, advocacy and design.
