Dreaming of picking fresh mangoes and avocados straight from your own backyard? While these fruits are usually associated with tropical/subtropical climates, with the right knowledge and care they can be grown successfully right here in Adelaide.
Join Hills Environment Centre for our new Webinar Wednesday series, a monthly chance to explore exciting topics and learn something new!
In this session, Joe from Joe’s Connected Garden will share his wealth of experience in cultivating mangoes and avocados in South Australia’s Mediterranean climate. Joe has been growing a wide variety of fruit trees for many years, and is passionate about helping people get the most from their gardens, no matter the size or location.
The webinar will cover:
Choosing the right varieties for Adelaide’s conditions
Planting, soil preparation, and watering tips
Protecting young trees from frost and heat stress
Pruning, maintenance, and encouraging healthy growth
Maximising fruit production for a reliable harvest
Whether you’re a beginner gardener curious about trying something new, or an experienced grower looking to expand your backyard orchard, this webinar will give you the practical tools and inspiration to succeed. There will also be time for questions, so you can ask Joe questions specific to your own garden.
