A one-off Wednesday Comedy Lineup is coming to Islington on October 21.

Five handpicked comedians from Newcastle and the Central Coast will bring their favourite jokes to a rare night of midweek stand-up.

It’s a chance to discover unique local acts in a relaxed comedy club atmosphere, without having to wait for the weekend.

Meet the lineup:

Fiona Cox: A high-end comedian who appears in major festivals, Cox milks comedy out of the mundane with precision observations, deadpan deliveries, and witty gripes about modern life.

Steve Dowse: A 2026 state finalist in the prestigious Raw Comedy competition, Dowse gives loveable larrikin energy with punchy, unfiltered stories about caring for an ageing parent and dating at the bottom of the barrel.

Huw Rogers: A 2025 Comedian of the Year nominee (The Comedy Writers Group), Rogers brings warm, sharp and playful humour about the absurd realities of living with blindness — from awkward encounters to everyday ironies hiding in plain sight.

Michael O’Connor: An emerging talent who finds the funny in parental despair and household chaos, as he stumbles through the minefield of raising tech-savvy teenagers who are somehow defeated by a dishwasher.

Elih Jackson: Working-class charm, edgy one-liners and wild yarns — Jackson offers hot takes from a life that sent him from the football field into wildlife research at a zoo.

So expect a night of cheeky jokes you won’t hear at the office.
