Join us for a casual Wednesday Talk with Nadege Desgenetez
French-born Nadège Desgenétez is a visual artist, glassblower and an educator. Her career has spanned across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. In France, Desgenétez obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Industrial Design) (1991) from Université de Caen Normandie, before continuing her glass training at Centre Européen de Recherche et de Formation aux Arts Vérriers (CERFAV) between 1993 and 1995. After working in studios in Europe, and travelling to the United States as a teaching assistant to Italian maestro Lino Tagliapietra, she moved to Seattle to attend the Pilchuck Glass School with a full scholarship in 1998. Since 2005, Desgenétez has remained a lecturer at the Glass Workshop of the Australian National University, Canberra. Desgenétez has been the recipient of several prizes and awards including the Prix de la Vocation from the Fondation Marcel Bleustein Blanchet (2004); the Prix d’Honneur de la Fondation de France (1997) and the Pilchuck Glass School SAXE Award (2004 and 1997.)
