Weed Foraging School Holiday Workshop for kids and parents
Event description
A wonderful world of weeds exists around us and while we may wage war on some, have you ever wanted your kids to know exactly which ones are friendly and even useful and which ones are unhelpful or even harmful?
Join us on a comprehensive tour of all of the weeds in the neighbourhood. Forage, sample or just collect and learn. Children will make a weedy bushcraft mandala they can take home to remember their newfound knowledge.
We will also brew harvest and boil up a Weed Tea for you to sample and enjoy.
Facilitated by experienced Nature Educators Dee and Ella
Suitable for children 4 - 12 y/o.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encouraged to participate in the fun!
This school holiday program is an all-weather outdoor session so participants need to make sure to bring weather-appropriate protection. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be shifted to an undercover location. Cancellation will only occur in the event of extreme weather warnings: fire, strong winds, storm or high temperatures.
