Weed Management & Bush Regeneration
Event description
A bush regeneration training session for gardeners and land managers to learn how to manage introduced grass species, native grass replacements, overall weed management and bush regeneration in Zone 1. Workshop will also include a demonstration of the 'Lever Weeder', a specialised weed management tool for bush regeneration. The lever weeder can improve the efficiency of weed management and the survival of native species through vital bush regeneration.
'The “lever weeder” – a leverage-based standing weeder for crowning grasses – can improve the efficiency of weed management and assist with vital bush regeneration. UNSW industrial design student Sabrina Piro designed it in response to the catastrophic Australian bushfire season, for bush regenerators – a small yet essential industry of people who work to preserve the Australian bush by restoring its natural ecosystems..
Please bring: Hat, water bottle, pen and paper for notes, sunscreen, insect repellant, wear suitable clothing and shoes, gardening gloves.
