Welcome Back - Short talks and networking
Event description
Join NAWIC Wellington members to catch up for the first time in 2025
Help us kick off 2025 with the Wellington NAWIC crew. We’ll start with two guest speakers, get a quick roundup of the year ahead from our co-chairs, and then enjoy some nibbles, drinks, and general catch-ups. We have two excellent speakers lined up for you.
Natalie Ferguson and Kristen Lunman: After founding and leading the investing platform Hatch to a successful exit in 2021, they turned their focus to a new challenge: the global gender leadership gap. Powrsuit is a career accelerator for women at every stage of their careers. Smash your goals in 2025 with practical micro lessons, learn from experienced leaders, and join a community of women (and allies) who champion each other's growth. Nat and Kristen will speak about how to build momentum with small actions. Forget big New Year's resolutions; learn how breaking down ambitious goals into tiny, doable steps can help you build unstoppable momentum.
Cara Daggar: Many of our members will be familiar with Cara, who has spent 12 years in Wellington's construction sector, blending technical expertise and leadership in Design Management and BIM. She started her own company, Kea Construction Technology, in May of last year and has gone from strength to strength. Cara will be talking about finding ways to make your career work for you, and how what that means can change drastically overnight.
Cara was also the 2024 winner in the NAWIC Excellence Awards category: Excellence In Site Operational Management - Site or Field Award.

ABOUT THE VENUEÂ
Located at 293-295 Cuba Street, Thistle Hall is one of the few public halls remaining in central city Wellington. Originally built to store groceries and tea, the function of the hall has since been reinvented many times over: as a meeting place, a dancehall, a venue for gigs, a playground, a movie theatre, a classroom, a studio, and now a vibrant community centre and public art gallery. For one hundred years its totara floor has withstood jigs and reels, children's tricycles, star-jumpers, head-bangers, even earthquakes.Â
Please note:Â NAWIC is a voluntary organisation, committed to its obligations as a PCBU under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Â Amongst other things, this requires NAWIC to take all practicable steps to eliminate, isolate or minimize hazards that our event attendees are exposed to. Health and safety is a shared responsibility.
