Event description

RoseyRavelston Bookshop and community space in Lawson will host a Welcome Dinner for people with refugee experience and people seeking asylum in the Blue Mountains, Nepean, and Western Sydney.

We’ll create a space to share food and offer support to people looking for a sense of community and belonging. We hope that this will be the beginning of ongoing dinners and growing relationships!
Meeting around a table and sharing food is a wonderful way to bring people together. We’ll provide soup and bread; if you’d like to bring your favourite dish, you are most welcome to but it is not required.
The First Welcome Dinner will be at the end of Refugee Week: Sunday June 23, with a limit of 50 people. We’re hoping this will be the first of many Welcome Dinners, and we want to hear your ideas on how to continue them.

Here’s how you can help:
Share this, especially with groups that support people seeking asylum and people with refugee experience.
Create something delicious to share! Vegetarian and Gluten Free are always appreciated, but make your favourite meal. Please list the ingredients so that those with allergies can be aware.
If you are a community interpreter or translator please, or have connections please contact us.
Help with setting up and cleaning up on the day. Setup will begin at 3pm on Sunday, June 23

If you’d like to be involved in this project, have ideas or would like more information, please contact Christy (0447434499) or Catherine (info@roseyravelston.com)
