Welcome Summer Plant ID & Natural History Walk
Description
Summer arrives with the Summer Solstice on Sunday, June 21st, but we’ll celebrate the season on the next day, Monday, June 22nd, the first full day of summer. Join Boot Boutwell to explore The Elliott Concord River Preserve in Carlisle, a pretty little riverside conservation area. The walk will focus on plant identification as well as fun and interesting natural history about the plants we see, with a particular emphasis on flowers that are in bloom. We’ll also talk about the Summer Solstice, what it signifies, and why we have seasons; and we’ll celebrate The Solstice with a little poetry and Solstice lore. Children 10 and older welcome if accompanied by an adult. No dogs please.
