Welcoming Cities Victorian Gathering

Join local government practitioners and community partners for an engaging afternoon focused on embedding welcoming practices across Victoria.

Following the Victorian state election, Farah Farouque from the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria will reflect on the election results and what they may mean for multicultural Victoria and local government. A panel hosted by Merri-bek City Council will explore welcoming in action, followed by Anthea Hancocks from the Scanlon Foundation Research Institute, who will share findings from the Mapping Social Cohesion report and lead a workshop to help participants consider what the findings mean for their work.

We’ll also hear from Louise Perry from Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria. There’ll be time to connect with colleagues, share experiences and consider practical ways to support inclusion, belonging and social cohesion in our local communities.

In partnership with Merri-bek City Council.
