Wellbeing for Creatives

Wellbeing for Creatives is a new monthly peer-supported space for Ōtautahi artists, makers and creatives of all kinds every second Tuesday of the month. It offers a welcoming environment to connect with others who understand the unique joy and pressures of creative life.

Through guided reflection, shared conversation and gentle wellbeing practices, participants are supported to recognise their strengths, broaden their resources and build meaningful community. By grounding in a holistic approach inspired by Te Whare Tapa Whā model, the session aim to support physical, mental, spiritual, social and environmental wellbeing. These sessions are thoughtfully facilitated while remaining flexible and responsive to the needs of the group.

At its heart, Wellbeing for Creatives is about creative people supporting one another to nurture resilience, inspiration and a sense of belonging together.

Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Place: Toi Auaha, 5 Worcester Boulevard

Workshop schedule: The workshop will start at 6.30pm with a break in the middle for drinks and snacks. Activities will vary in nature each week, please wear clothes you don't mind getting grubby and that you can move freely in.

    Jennifer Maghzal

    Jennifer Maghzal is a multidisciplinary creative and community educator with a background in visual art, graphic design and dance. Alongside their creative practice, they have facilitated workshops and community spaces in the UK and NZ that centre inclusion, expression and collaborative learning. Drawing on her diverse background, Jennifer is committed to cultivating culturally responsive practice, working to honour the multicultural fabric of Aotearoa. She seeks to foster spaces where underrepresented voices feel seen, respected and empowered. In recent years, Jennifer has undertaken formal studies in counselling, Person-Centred and Solution Focused modalities in particular, to more responsibly support her communities. Informed by both professional training and lived experience, her approach is compassionate, strengths-based and grounded in the belief that creativity and connection are powerful foundations for resilience, growth and belonging.
