Scaling Localism: A Smarter Way to Fund Social Good
Event description
Join leading innovators in philanthropy, tech, and community development for an evening of bold ideas, live demos, and energising conversation.
Together, we'll explore a radically better approach to funding social good - one that replaces outdated, bureaucratic systems with community-led action, real-time data, and trust-based collaboration.
What to Expect
This won’t be another talkfest. Join us to step inside the future of funding.
- The Wellbeing Protocol — we’ll share the research, architecture, case studies and lessons learned
- Interactive session — you’ll get to play with the platform and experience it first-hand
- Networking & nibbles — connect with like-minded funders, technologists, and changemakers.
You’ll hear from the people building and using these tools—and get a behind-the-scenes look at how it all works.
So, what’s The Wellbeing Protocol?
Starting as a Government-funded research project, The Wellbeing Protocol vision is to scale localism globally by creating the infrastructure for community-led funding—empowering hyper-local communities to shape their own wellbeing, build resilience, and take ownership of the resources that affect their lives.
This platform empowers communities to propose, vote on, and allocate micro-grants with full transparency and real-time impact tracking.
For funders and partners (charities, social enterprises, NGO’s, etc), it offers a radically more efficient way to support grassroots action—reducing admin costs, increasing transparency and accountability, and building trust from the ground up.
Over the last four years the team has run successful trials across New Zealand, Australia and the UK.
This won't be another talkfest! You can look forward to conversation, energy, creativity, and real collaboration.
Let’s reimagine a new system together.
