Wellington Before9: Responsible AI - have we figured out what that means in practice?
Event description
Join us for "Responsible AI - have we figured out what that means in practice?," an engaging Before9 (Breakfast event) discussing the latest strategic direction of the technology in Aotearoa New Zealand.
New Zealand's first national AI strategy has arrived, aiming to boost productivity and encourage the uptake of AI "with confidence." But as we move forward, a critical question remains: what does "responsible AI" actually look like in practice for businesses and organisations in Aotearoa? This panel discussion will delve into the nuances of the government's new strategy, exploring its impact on our collective journey. Our panel will unpack the challenges and opportunities presented by a "light-touch" regulatory approach and discuss how we can build a uniquely Kiwi framework for responsible AI in New Zealand.
Our panel will be made up of the following individuals:
Zoe Udy, Deputy Chair at TUANZ
Sasha Vlassoff, Senior Policy Advisor at InternetNZ
Plus one other
Zoe in particular will be able to give an update from our meeting with the Parliamentary cross-party caucus on AI.
We look forward to hosting you at this Before9. This event is free for members of InternetNZ and TUANZ. This is a number limited event to 30 individuals so make sure you register early.
Please note the formalities will start at 7:45am but you can arrive any time after 7:30am.
