The Wellington Youth Annual Charity Ball is one of the largest inter-school student-led charitable events in the Wellington region. The goal of WYCB is to raise funds & raise awareness for a chosen charity, and to demonstrate the potential of student-led charitable initiatives. Our 2024 Charity Ball was an outstanding success raising over $16,000 for So They Can.

This year we are excited to announce that we have decided to fundraise for a strongly New Zealand focused charity with the aim to create a meaningful impact on the community around us. The charity we have chosen to work with is Wellington Hospitals Foundation. We are looking to surpass last year's success and need your help to do so!

Annually, about 65 young cancer patients need specialist hospital care. Around 30 of them face long, repeated stays for complex treatments like leukemia, lymphoma, sarcoma, and transplants. To combat social isolation and support their emotional well-being during these stays, Manaakitanga Care Packages offer age-appropriate resources, costing $19,200 over two years.

Support Wellington Hospitals Foundations to deliver the very best care for patients and families. This includes specific care and comfort items, as well as creating warm, welcoming spaces to help reduce anxiety and stress.
