Wellness Workshop for Women 50+ 'How to Stay Well & Live Well'
Event description
Researchers are now recognising that women’s bodies and brains age differently to men’s.
Most of these differences are due to the changes a woman experiences during menopause, which is one of the most important stages in a woman’s health.
Join Lyn Haffenden (Healthy Brain, Healthy Ageing Coach) and Sarah White (Senior Yoga Teacher and Therapist) for a half-day experiential workshop using the 5 Pillars of Healthy Ageing, and experience what you can do as a woman to be well, stay well and live a life you love in your 50’s and beyond.
What to expect:
Using the Five pillars of Healthy Ageing and latest research, gentle movement-based yoga, restorative yoga, and guided Yoga Nidra (meditation) Lyn and Sarah will guide you to experience what you can do as a woman to be well, stay well and live a life you love in your 50’s and beyond.
5 Pillars
1. Physical & Mental Exercise – what your body and brain need to stay agile and strong
2. Nutrition – you really are what you eat
3. Mental & Emotional Wellbeing – what you are doing to connect and relax
4. Hormone Health – happy hormones are key to healthy ageing and a healthy brain
5. Knowing your “why” – brains flourish when they have a purpose in life
About the facilitators
Through her own health challenges with Hashimoto’s disease at 50, Lyn began rebuilding her health and learning the importance of food, environment, physical activity, and mindset to enhance her vitality. As a Healthy Brain, Healthy Ageing Coach and with qualifications in wellness coaching and hormone health from IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) and brain health from Amen University, Lyn now helps others to keep their brains and bodies healthy, so they can age with confidence.
With a background in education and a registered Yoga Therapist and Mental Health Aware Yoga teacher, Sarah found yoga to be the key to unlocking years of disconnect between her mind and body, creating a path to wellbeing. These days, she specialises in supporting individuals to navigate changes in their physical, mental, and emotional states and embrace a healthy ageing process.
