Event description

What better time to relax, connect and learn than during Myrtleford's #bekindtoyourmind mental wellbeing week and just after the Winter Solstice.

This FREE 2-hour workshop will guide you through:

  • Breathwork and meditation
  • Traditional weaving
  • Yarning circle

This FREE session is facilitated by Wellness practioner and educator Lee Couch, proud Aboriginal woman from the Gamilaroi Tribe in Northern NSW -
Lee Couch | Aboriginal Health & Wellness Facilitator & Educator – Lee Ann Couch, and will be supported by Gamilaraay artist Arkeria Rose Armstrong - Arkeria Rose Armstrong | Maliyaa.

Lee is passionate about the value of traditional knowledge and promotes culturally responsive approaches that honor and empower individuals' cultural heritage in mental health treatment and support strategies for prevention. Incorporating traditional wisdom and practices into mental health care is key to sustainable living and a deeper understanding of the world.

By respecting the traditional wisdom and practices and integrating it into modern society, we can promote a more comprehensive approach to well-being. This exploration of the benefits of traditional knowledge in today’s world will illuminate its critical role in shaping our current existence and pointing us towards a balanced and sustainable future.

This workshop has been made possible with funding from Murray PHN, and in-kind support from Myrtleford P-12 College.

All ability levels, genders and ages 6+ years welcome.
