Event description

Celebrate spooky season with a new read: Fifty two different stories. Fifty two different Authors. Endless fright for all ages.

This event is free to attend, however, it helps us in planning to receive your RSVP.

About the Book:

Fifty two different stories. Fifty two different Authors. Endless fright for all ages.

Every state has an urban legend that evokes fear and curiosity in equal parts, and we've chronicled all of these logic-defying horrors here in the Haunted States of America anthology.

From the Jersey Devil to La Llorona, each story introduces a new chill inducing, stomach churning monster, spectre, or poltergeist certain to keep you up at night. A broad ranging collection of authors, including seasoned veterans and some first timers making a fright-tastic debut, have all united to unearth the scariest lore from each state in the US, as well as D.C. and Puerto Rico. Make sure to strap in for this spooky cross country tour, but be extra careful not to let any of these terrors follow you home.

" Shiver your way across the United States of fear in this collection of paranormal stories by a diverse range of authors. . .An entertaining, fright-filled geographical tour." —Kirkus Reviews

About the Author:

Wendy BooydeGraaff lives near Grand Rapids, Michigan, about thirty minutes from Lake Michigan’s spooky triangle where over 1500 shipwrecks and at least one plane are lurking under the deep. She has to drive over an hour to tour Ludington’s Big Sable Point Lighthouse where they won’t tell her who is moving in the shadows or why it smells like cigar smoke and freshly baked bread. She is the author of the picture book Salad Pie (Ripple Grove Press/Chicago Review Press), and has fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction published in NOON, Smokelong Quarterly, Ninth Letter Online, Stanchion, and elsewhere.

About the Conversationalist:

Shanna Heath is an author, editor, and educator. Her work upends the ordinary to reveal the beauty of the stranger, queer, and weird. She has worked with over 200+ authors to develop and write their books. She is a member of the Horror Writer's Association (HWA) and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She is a proud queer woman and mother, and the owner of a neurodivergent brain (her own, of course). Reach out at shannaheath.com or on Instagram @mother_marrow.
