ARTIST BIOS

Wesley Wiskar

Northern Brisbane-ite Wesley Wiskar has been a lot of things in his short time on this pale blue orb orbiting a star. He's been a pizza shop owner, uni student, local council work experience intern, and even a brief stint as a water park supervisor where he watched people stack themselves boogie-boarding on a wave rider; ensuring the only thing hurt was their pride. Throughout all this, however, Wes always was and always will be a musician.

Channelling the forces of folk that has preoccupied the cultural landscape since time immemorial, Wes’ sincere song-writing, vocal vulnerability, and bittersweet sound is something he believes is worth being out there for people to hear.

Radial Delay

Back in 2014, four kids were making their way through a Brisbane high school, relatively unaware of each other’s existence. It wouldn’t be until the formation of Radial Delay in late 2020, that Nick McPhee (vocals, rhythm guitar), Will O’Donoghue (lead guitar), Callum Zipf (bass), and David O’Connor (drums) would all even be in the same room together.

Radial Delay's sound is best defined as a fusion of rock, folk, and pop, resulting from each member's diverse musical tastes and influences. McPhee's soaring, catchy vocal melodies and O'Donoghue's earworm lead guitar work are complemented perfectly by the warm basslines of Zipf and the steadfast rhythm of O'Connor. Their songwriting intends to strike the delicate balance of creating something contemporary, while paying homage to the classics that formed the soundtrack of their youth. This approach has earned them high praise from fans, with one describing them as:

“Somehow both your, your sister's, and your dad’s favourite band.”

As avid live music enthusiasts themselves, the band dedicated much of 2021 and 2022 to improving their on–stage act, playing regular gigs that culminated in a sold–out headline show at West End's 'It's Still A Secret' in October 2022. With a strong foundation of loyal fans, the four–piece launched their successful debut single ‘Echoes (Harveys)’.

Their sophomore single ‘Nothing On The One Way’ is now available to stream on Spotify.

Tom Harrison

Since bursting onto the music scene in 2018 with his band Hugo Stranger and the Rattlers, Tom Harrison has been making all kinds of noise ever since. After releasing their debut album Against the Tide in 2021, and a newest single ‘Leaders’ in 2023, Harrison has found the time to release his debut single as a solo artist. “How Long” was recorded at his home studio, Harrison recorded all the instruments himself except bass and had his wife Angela perform backing vocals on ‘How Long’. The song was mixed by Nell Forster at the Moon Room in Salisbury, Brisbane and mastering for the track’s was provided by Mikey Young.

Tom Harrison, revealed the songs’ (and the EP’s) inspiration came from a formative adventure he took with his wife Angela across North America in their Chevy G10 six years ago, living out of the van as they cut their own trail through the west coast of Canada & America.

“I wrote some of these songs within the first few months of travelling, there was so much inspiring me at the time. However I had also just written the debut album for Hugo Stranger just before the trip, so upon returning to Australia I wasn't confident enough to be a solo musician and wanted to put my first band together (Hugo Stranger). I’ve had these songs ready to go for years, however I finally feel like I can give them justice and tell their story properly."
