PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care and end of life care.

Program Objective: PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.

The workshops are interactive and provide ample time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).

Intended workshop audience: for Health Care Professionals who may care for a child or neonate with a life limiting illness.

Aim of workshop: Develop an understanding of a palliative approach for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Topics include: principles/philosophy of Paediatric palliative care; last days of life: Paediatric & Neonatal Toolkit; communicating with children; symptom management; Bear Cottage; after death care; grief & bereavement; professional self care; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities.

  • An email confirming registration to attend will be sent from HUMANITIX to participants advising that registration has been successful. 
  • Please note that places are limited and registration is essential.
  • TICKET issued in 'good faith' that you meet the necessary criteria/target group for this session. Those not meeting the criteria/target group will be contacted by PEPA NSW to cancel their ticket.
  • Registration opens approximately 15 minutes prior to start time.
