Westmead Research Showcase
Description
About the Event
The Westmead Research Showcase brings together clinicians, researchers and students from across the Westmead campus to highlight current research activity and career pathways. This year’s program will include a strong focus on genetics and genomic research, alongside panel discussions exploring clinician‑researcher experiences and pathways, with practical insights into balancing clinical practice, research and training. The Showcase is designed to complement the University of Sydney HDR Conference and support emerging researchers navigating clinical and academic careers.
The program will feature talks from Professor Daniel MacArthur, Director of the Centre for Population Genomics at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, and Professor John Prins, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, alongside clinician‑researchers Dr Michelle Lorantzos, Haematologist and clinician‑researcher at Westmead, and Professor Germaine Wong, Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. The Showcase will also include contributions from emerging clinician‑researchers and early to mid‑career researchers, highlighting recent updates, insights and breakthroughs from across the Westmead campus.
