Westside Canvas and Wine Paint and Sip at Hop Heads
What will we be painting? 'Lisbon Seaside Tram' by Kerrie Gottliebsen
A bit about the class
Kerrie’s Westside Canvas and Wine was born from a simple idea: bring people together to have fun and to create their own mid-century modern/pop art/travel poster inspired artwork in a relaxed, welcoming space.
You don’t need to be “good at art.” You're having a go, and that's fabulous in anyone's book.
It truly doesn’t matter whether the last thing you painted was a stick figure in primary school, or whether you’re an experienced creative.
This is about letting go of judgement, learning a few simple techniques, and rediscovering the joy of making something with your own hands.
Over 2.5 hours to 3 hours, you’ll be guided step-by-step while enjoying a glass of wine or beer, or a non-alcoholic option if you prefer.
It’s a chance to switch off, have a laugh, and take a little time just for you. Come on your own and you’ll be amongst friends, or bring a friend (or five!) and make it a shared experience.
There is no BYO, but your first drink is on me (bubbly, house wine, a select range of craft beer).
You are welcome to bring snacks or order something from the many nearby restaurants. Altona station is only 2 minutes’ walk away so if you want a budget night of travel, there’s your option.
And because Westside Canvas and Wine is held in a bar, you don’t need to rush off. Stick around if you like and admire your painting. Kerrie will either be packing the car or joining you at the bar.
There will be some chilled tunes playing. Let her know beforehand if you have a special request.
Kerrie also caters for hen’s parties, date nights, birthday celebrations, or any other event that needs a positive, connecting vibe.
Whether you’re attending the sessions at Hopheads, or organising your own event, you’ll leave with your very own artwork, and the pride that comes from being brave enough to try something new.
Oh and she swears like a pirate so if that’s not your thing, best to give it a miss.

Take-Home Art
You take home your completed painting at the end of the session — it’s yours to keep and display. A group photo will be taken at the completion of the class for social media.
Drinking Responsibly
Westside Canvas and Wine is all about fun — and that includes drinking responsibly. As part of the booking process, participants will agree to consume alcohol responsibly and respectfully. Our classes are relaxed and social, but they’re not the place to arrive intoxicated. Excessive drinking disrupts the experience for others (and nobody wants to paint beside someone who’s unwell or knocking over paint water).
Arriving already intoxicated may mean you’re unable to participate, and refunds will not be provided in this circumstance. We want everyone to have an enjoyable, creative 2.5 -3 hours — so pace yourself, stay hydrated, and keep it tidy.
