What’s it all about?

Felted soap. Never heard of it? Well that's okay. You're in the right place.

This class uses the technique of wet felting to create a felt casing around bars of soap, which becomes a soft soapy sponge when washing.

Wool is a natural fibre which can be felted - synthetics won't work - and the special bonus is that wool is also antibacterial. Encasing soap in this way adds to its use life, without the soap dissolving away.

It's also a useful project for learning about wet felting, which is completely different to needle felting. So come along to another wonderful class with Heather, and personalise your felting project.

Who will be teaching?

Heather(she/her) loves crafting, and loves sharing it with others. She was first asked to teach in 1998, stepping up to fill-in during her daughter's art class at Williamstown community house, and has been teaching arts and crafts in various settings ever since. Heather currently holds weekly crafting classes.

Heather also contributes content for the Get Creative Magazine with projects published every month (right from edition #1!). She has also contributed a third of the projects for the Kids Craft book & all projects for the Faux Finishes book.
