Wet + Wild: Phantom Falls (July 2023)
Event description
Every year in winter, we gather together to experience the beauty Victoria has to offer us. This month we are heading to Phantom Falls, near Lorne.
This is a free community event, where we will connect, hike, swim, and have some fun. You can bring anyone you like, and you are welcome to participate in as much or as little as you'd like.
The Allenvale Camping ground is also available for camping the night before, and can be booked through Parks Victoria.
Things to know:
-It is just outside of Lorne, about 2 hours from Melbourne and fully accessible by regular cars
-We will be meeting at the Allenvale Car Park before hiking towards the Falls
-It is a moderate hike to the falls. Bring sturdy shoes, wet weather gear, swimming gear and snacks.
-For the brave souls, we will be going for a swim in the falls.
-Sturdy shoes are advised. Leggings are not
-In the spirit of community and sustainability, let's all car pool where possible. Jump on our FB group "Cold And Conscious Community" to organise car pooling and camping
This is a time for us to connect as a community while surrounded by nature, and making the most of a time that many people take for granted. Whether you come rugged up in multiple layers, or you're dressed in your speedos - everybody is welcome
