About us:

It*s Material is a Magandjin based artist collective consisting of seven members working across jewellery, small objects and more!

In this workshop you will be led by It*s Material’s Susan Richardson who is an experienced facilitator and jewellery maker. Susan has been working with enamels to make jewellery and small decorative items for over four years. She will take you on a journey through the exciting world of kiln-fired decorative finishes to make your own finished works which will be suitable as earrings, pendants, brooches or more.

Assisting on the day will be It*s Material’s Kat Bracco and Hannaneh Qiumarsi who will be there to answer questions and provide any extra help you may need!

Check out the It*s Material Instagram page for examples of what you’ll be making in this workshop under Whacky Wearables highlights! @it.s_material

FAQs

  • What do I need to bring?

Just yourself and some closed in shoes! We will be providing all tools and materials.

We will have a short tea break at 11:40am so feel free to bring food for this break if you would like. Basic coffee/black tea will be provided.

  • What is the photography in the workshop used for?

We will be taking close up photographs of the pieces you make in the workshop as well as pictures and videos of the group working. These will be used for promotional/documentation purposes and some will be printed out and hung in an exhibition at Ipswich Community Gallery in February in our ‘Community Corner.’

We will check in at the start of the workshop and if requested can ensure your face and/or work is not shown in any of the images/videos.
