    Event description

As a Māori arts practitioner with a lived experience of Colonisation, and Intergenerational trauma, Grayson Goffe (Taranaki) intentionally places himself within resilient communities approaching adversity as opportunities for growth.

Grayson brings warmth and a sense of humour to embrace troubling realities to start meaningful conversations within our society. Driven to see social justice for Māori and wider under-represented communities, Grayson navigates in the community through Te ao Māori methodologies of metabolic knowledge transfer and kai.

Through Whakamanatia, and in collaboration with Pikitoi Artist Collective, last year Grayson gifted Whakarei to the Albert Park Caretakers Cottage as a kaitiaki over us.

This year Grayson Goffe will lead us in Whakamanatia, alongside Kaan Rabbette, activating Rangipuke Albert Park - in honour of the Bog Queens. Through acting in transformational potential and creative practice we will enable each other to reimagine, disrupt and rebuild our own takatāpui futures collaboratively and equitably.
