Huon's Whale Point Expansion Project Information sessions
Event description
Huon has announced an $110 million investment to increase land-based salmon production at its Whale Point facility in Port Huon.
Huon has led the way in land-based aquaculture and offshore farming in Tasmania. The investment in a new Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) will allow Huon to meet growing demand for Tasmanian salmon, whilst aligning with the Tasmanian Government’s Salmon Industry Plan.
Huon is undertaking extensive community engagement as part of the project and are offering free information sessions to the local community.Â
These 30 minute sessions include a tour of our existing Whale Point facility followed by an open Q&A session with our project team, where they will answer any questions you may have around the expansion project.Â
Tickets are free and the site is only accessible with a valid booking.Â
As Whale Point is an active worksite we ask visitors to dress appropriately, please ensure you are wearing warm clothes and enclosed shoes (Gumboots will be provided inside the facility).Â
