What Bird is That!

BirdLife Mornington Peninsula is pleased to present its biannual event – What Bird is That?

Join our family friendly morning to learn about about what birds you are likely to see and hear on the Mornington Peninsula. This year we will also update you about H5 Bird flu. Our expert guides will then take you on a one hour walk helping you identify local birds in the Coolart Woodlands.

Help fund next year’s Mornington Peninsula Bird festival by staying to hear Sean Dooley, BirdLife Australia’s Birdman, talk about his life with birds.

Activities for the kids.

Enter the annual Big Bird Bake Off - bring a bird themed cake to be judged against your peers for a small prize.

This event is suitable for all ages, 5-85 yrs, with an all access walk option available.

Tickets available on the day if not sold out.

BYO picnic lunch to enjoy in the beautiful Coolart gardens.  BBQ’s are available for use in the grounds. Free parking

8:30-8:45am: Arrive and register for the morning - pre-ordered tickets are free.

9:00 – 10:10: Presentation about our local bird species. A short update about the current bird flu epidemic will be added at the end.

10:30 – 11:30: Guided bird watching walk with our experts.

11:30:  Morning tea. Friends of Coolart will be selling tea and coffee. The Bird Bird Bake Off will be judged at this time.

12:00pm – about 13:15: Stay or come late for Sean Dooley's presentation for a small cost.
