This online codesign session is about "give and get". It's an active meeting, not just a sit and watch meeting.

We ask you to give of your time and input to help fashion our approach to a topic, in this case the topic is how do we talk to the Environmental Benefits of Open Woodland Restoration.

What we have in the region?

Sites like ABARES and farming organisations are great at commodity centric responses. But, what do we have in terms of Environmental assets and resources?

Give: 90 minutes + your input.
Get: a Farm Snapshot, grant access pathways, and community support.

We’re inviting farmers to run the Farm Snapshot for their own place, then tell us what else we should add so the environmental benefits of Open Woodland Restoration are easier to understand and act on. You’ll see what existing Box Gum Grassy Woodland habitat you have, what areas are suitable, your Biodiversity Condition Score (and how it compares locally), potential carbon sequestration, and where the highest-yielding areas sit. Then we’ll workshop: how does it all help the environment—and how do we explain it clearly to other farmers?

What environmental assets do we have?

At this online codesign session we will explore at farm level and landscape level questions like this:

• What existing Box Gum Grassy Woodland Habitat do you have?

• What areas are suitable for Open Woodland Restoration?

• What is your Biodiversity Condition Score?

• How does your Biodiversity Condition Score compare with local averages?

• What level of carbon sequestration could you achieve?

• Where on your farm are the highest yielding areas?

• How does it all help the environment?

In the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Open Woodland Restoration is providing Environmental, Social, Financial and Productivity benefits to farmers and may be the answer to farm level and landscape-level restoration of Open Woodland.
