We all know that being a young adult is one of the most challenging and rewarding chapters of our lives. Navigating the search of one’s self identity, determining career options, meeting education expectations and solving day to day personal issues means that life is never easy for our future leaders.

Now imagine trying to get your head around all of these changes and 2020 hits. From devastating bushfires that took the lives and homes of many, to flash flooding and then to top it off a global pandemic forcing us all to find our ‘new normal,’ changing the way of living for everyone.

There has never been a better time than now to focus on and develop skills of resilience to overcome the world we now live in.

This workshop will explore the full dimensions of resilience and what it means to all of us as individuals. Students will have the opportunity to speak frankly about the challenges and triumphs they face and to investigate what real world actions they can take which actually lead to positive outcomes.

As a career firefighter and founder of a tech business, an opportunity to develop resilience presents itself every day. With students we will present a worksheet journey that will define resilience, provide strategies to encourage and develop skills associated with resilience and leave them with take away lessons on how to apply these skill sets in their everyday lives.
