What Employers Don't Tell You Job Readiness Workshop

The "What Employers Don't Tell You" CSE youth program is designed to equip young people with the essential skills and knowledge required for successful entry into the workforce. Through a comprehensive workshop and hands-on activities, participants will gain insights into the nuances of job readiness that employers often overlook. The primary goal of the program is to empower youth with the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to navigate the job market successfully. By focusing on aspects that are often omitted in traditional education, such as effective communication, problem-solving, and workplace etiquette, the program aims to enhance participants' employability and prepare them for a smooth transition into the workforce.

Topics Covered

Job Applications - Learn to craft resumes and cover letters tailored to job requirements. Stand out to employers by highlighting relevant skills and experiences.

Interviews - Prepare for interviews with practice questions and techniques. Present yourself professionally and confidently to potential employers.

Trial Shift & Probation - Understand expectations during trial periods. Learn to adapt quickly and demonstrate your capabilities.

Keeping Work - Maintain productivity and job satisfaction. Communicate effectively and collaborate with co-workers and managers.

Promotion - Develop skills for career advancement. Seek out opportunities for growth within your current role.

Finding Other Work - Explore various job search methods, including networking and online platforms. Adapt your application materials for different industries and positions. Learn to get references and progress you career!

Runs Tuesday 4 June 2024 from 4pm to 5pm.

The Program will be held at the Goulburn Community Centre, 155 Auburn Street, Goulburn, NSW 2580. Participants will need to have their own transport organised to and from the Community Centre

Snacks and drinks will be provided.
