What I Wish I Knew When I Was A Support Worker: The basics that no one tells you

Price FREE Get tickets

Event description

Have you considered how our experiences, knowledge, and perspective on disability, shape the way that we provide support?

Through this series, we will explore what it means to ‘support’, deeper than physical/manual handling. We will look at topics that are often untaught during certificates and training, but that form the foundations of informed, strong support.

Whether you join one or all of the workshops, each topic has been devised to inspire reflection and discussion. All workshops are held online via Microsoft Teams.

Sparked by the peer network Disability Elders of All Ages, the Quality Support project aims to raise the quality and consistency of formal disability support. We do this through training and support to disability support workers and others in the sector. We offer free workshops to anyone and everyone to learn, share and develop. We seek to further connect and build leaders through our Community of Practice for support workers. We host workshops on topics identified by people who receive and provide support as those that are often overlooked or misunderstood.
