What if Wednesday
Event description
The Dubai Future Foundation published a Global 50 Report in 2024. This shared 50 opportunities to ponder, posing What if.... questions to encourage thinking.
The Ōtautahi Futures Collective is hosting What if Wednesdays to explore one of the opportunities. At each gathering a new volunteer will choose the Global 50 question. They get to choose the next question from the report and design how the conversation will unfold.
Our next What if Wednesday will explore the question:
"What if culture was integral to policymaking?"
Host: Alice Thompson
Alice is a student at the University of Canterbury studying sustainability, environmental governance, policy and social justice. She is passionate about intergenerational fairness and excited to host the second edition of What If Wednesday. If you would like to contact her prior to the gathering her LinkedIn is www.linkedin.com/in/alice-thompson-05679122b.

How will the event run?
The conversation will take place at Beat Street Cafe from 8:00am - 9:00am. You will need to order and pay for your own coffee, food etc on arrival. The host will introduce the topic and ignite the session with some provocative challenges. There will be a chance to talk through this, and perhaps use a futures tool to deepen thinking. It's a prototype so who knows what might emerge. The conversation and connection is important - let's make it fun!
