What is a Kiero? How to Use It — Free Workshop (Whanganui)
Description
What is Kiero?
Kiero is a simple food waste bin from Japan, first created in the 1980s. The name comes from the Japanese word kieru — "to disappear."
Kiero uses the power of nature — sunlight, soil, air and water — to break down your kitchen scraps. Bury your food waste in the soil, and within days it simply disappears. No heavy lifting, and nothing to take out to the kerb.
In this free workshop, you'll learn:
- How Kiero works, and why it's different
- What you can and can't put in
- How to use it day to day at home
There will be an easy demonstration, and plenty of time for questions. Everyone will receive a free Kiero guide to take home. Refreshments provided.
Your host
Mariko — Official Kiero Advisor, based in Whanganui.
