What is happening in The Democratic Republic of The Congo?
Event description
TW: SASH, child and adult slaveryÂ
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is enduring a silent genocide. Conflicting interests of many actors in the region has created instability for decades. Mining companies have exacerbated child and adult slavery and inhumane working conditions, and SASH is very prevalent in the country.Â
Join Dr Karo Moret-Miranda, Dr Babatunde Obamamoye, and Joel Odota as they bring an intersectional lens to who the genocide affects most, how it is perpetuated, how the people are exploited using neocolonialism, how we're linked to The DRC and what we can do as students to raise awareness and contribute to ending the genocide.
